I may be  a little late to the party but I am loving it.  Instagram is my new hobby. Taking pictures of the things of life, editing them a bit and sharing. Simple, quick and fun. The thing that really draws me to Instagram is the great community of people that you can share your photos with, comment to, like and discover great inspiration.  The dudes at Instagram are doing good things. Working on a video for Greycoats that will be out in a couple of months to accompany their new album. I am really excited about this project and the band’s new album.

It is always a challenged for me to work in motion. I really enjoy creating a visual feel and love the idea of bringing it to life but the process is not an easy one. A cleanly executed  video or mo-graph piece it can look so simple and natural. However the process of getting to this natural simplicity is anything but natural or simplistic. Every frame is considered, every effect worked at every transition bumped forward then back. The end result is very rewarding yet unless you love the process effort required can make it  difficult to see the project through to completion. This piece of work is well worth it.

Your drive for perfection was noticed. It has caused me to push beyond who I thought I was or what I thought I could accomplish.

From the 1970′s these images have traveled to the future. Giant heads in landscape form, scientific machinery, quests, cities of geometry, it’s all here. Though these images were created in the last 12 months they appear to be part of some sweeping scifi epic that would make Roland Topor and René Laloux jealous .

These are the brainchild and creation of Swedish artist Kelian Eng. He also has some motion work over here on Vimeo.

I love the idea of using modern tools to create aged looking images. I think we need to look back before we can ever move forward.
